OMFG! WYSIWUG – or not.  With dreamweaver I’m finding it incredibly frustrating that adobe adds “helpful” default options.  (Granted there are a few good helpful default options-which I will talk about in later posts)  For example I inserted a picture in my hompage then I made it a hyperlink-when I hyperlinked the image there was a default border (about  5 pixels or so) that went around the image-thereby #*$&ing up the alignment of the rest of the images next to the one I hyperlinked.  Incredibly it took me about 45 minutes to find out where the hell the option was to take out the border.  You would think that you would be able to find and edit this border option under the page properties tab in the category links (css)-but no.  So I search and search only to find that when I click the image I hyperlinked that a new properties tab opens up.  In this properties tab (the tab opens up at the bottom of your editing screen) there is a option named border- ta da.  Anyway currently I’m working trying to make my homepage use CSS.  CSS is very very good for use in designing web sites.  More on this later though-I’m really tired, its late, and I have my internship 2mara-where I hope I do more than photoshop.  Laterz

My Very First Web Site w/Dreamweaver, Hostmonster, and WordPress!

Ahhhh Finally! This is my very first web site I’ve EVER EVER published!  Well I did make another web site (8-10 pages) for my communications class before, but I never published it on the web.  I used a combination of Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop, a web hosting site called hostmonster.com, and am blogging about it now in wordpress !obviously!.  *Key thing is I used hostmonster’s c panel to install wordpress on my website (webbinglaboratory.com)-so this will in effect show my blog url address as www.webbinglaboratory.com/blog instead of blog.wordpress.com <—which just seems so much more UNprofessional.  Granted thus far my web site is only 2 pages…but my future educational experiences will be used to constantly update this site.  Currently I am a full time Hawaii Pacific University student in my 4th year of college majoring in Multimedia with a focus on Web Design.  I have 3 long, long! semesters more to go.  Right now as it stands my web skills are as follows: sub-intermediate on Dreamweaver, intermediate on Photoshop, begginner on Java, no html coding skill, and begginner in Flash.  Thankfully I have a summer internship at Isle Consulting Inc., Control-Alt-Delete right now-where I will be learning (hopefully) lots more.  I’m two weeks into it now (feeling like a professional photo editor currently-blah) but more learning is promised by my boss!  So check back in for more soon.  I will blog here at least weekly.   Laterz readers.

-P.S.-Right now I’m too tired to mess around with it-but the next thing I will work on is this atrociously hideous theme for my blog-so now I will watch The Office (season 3) untill I pass out.  Good Nite.
